The new Grasse Campus is actually the former Courthouse, built during the Restoration.
Inaugurated on February 6, 2023, the building—with more than 3,000 square meters of usable space—offers a breathtaking view of Grasse all the way to the coast, two lecture halls (one of which seats 120), 14 classrooms, multimedia and energy laboratories,
, as well as a fablab. This is the largest site within the Grasse CAMPUS regional campus.
"The architects made the design decision to treat this historic building the same way one would restore a listed building—by respecting its spirit and history."
The restoration was entrusted to Vincent SPELLER and Yves PEPIN; the architects made the design decision to treat this historic building as one would restore a listed building, respecting its spirit and heritage.
The magnificent and unique horseshoe-shaped central staircase has been preserved; the former courtroom has been kept exactly as it was, complete with its podiums and paneling; the foyer now serves as a dining area; and the building
still features fascinating examples of marblework, woodwork, metalwork, and stained-glass windows. A renovation that perfectly blends our past with our present. Modernity and history are constantly intertwined. A building
that was originally designed in an austere and rigid style has now been adapted to welcome the youth of today, who embody freedom and boldness. Here, heritage enriches education and vice versa. All of this is truly inspiring for
the schools and students who occupy the space.
