Depending on the size of the company, graduates with a higher technical certificate in vehicle maintenance may perform all or some of the following activities: carry out complex diagnostics, perform complex maintenance and repair operations, organize maintenance, and manage customer relations.

This graduate must mobilize various skills, including technical skills in different aspects of maintenance, organization and management, IT for communication and the use of specialized software, as well as internal communication (teamwork) and external communication (customer relations, technical support platform) and commercial skills.

Holders of the advanced technician's certificate ensure compliance with technical and environmental regulations, as well as the quality of after-sales service. This profession is practiced in the after-sales services of manufacturers' or equipment manufacturers' networks, the after-sales services of independent companies or networks of independent operators, the maintenance services of vehicle fleets (passenger cars, commercial vehicles), and the assistance platforms of manufacturers or equipment manufacturers. The holder of the advanced technician's certificate is responsible for ensuring compliance with technical and environmental regulations, as well as the quality of after-sales service.

The passenger vehicle option trains repairers and salespeople specializing in passenger cars, including utility vehicles derived from passenger cars, combispaces, vans, pickup trucks, and SUVs intended primarily for the transport of goods and/or people.

Graduates of the passenger vehicle program can work in vehicle fleet maintenance services (passenger cars, commercial vehicles).

The BTS Vehicle Maintenance option A passenger cars is open to anyone with a high school diploma: vocational diploma in maintenance and repair, STI2D diploma. Admission based on application, and possibly tests and/or interview.
