GRASSE CAMPUS has been hosting ECAM-EPMI since September 2019 and never expected to witness its incredible educational agility so soon!
Yet, during this uncertain time, we have been reassured by the school, which has explained the educational continuity plan put in place from the very beginning of the lockdown:
“Determined to overcome this crisis together from day one, our Executive Management, our Academic Affairs Department, and our program directors mobilized their teams and pooled all their educational resources to develop and immediately implement a distance learning system, in order to ensure that our students could continue their studies.”
A “distance learning” program that emphasizes academic support and dialogue with students, as the school explains:
Regarding science subjects:
As soon as in-person classes were suspended, we set up a “MOODLE” platform where each instructor uploads the following materials for students: lectures, exercises, practical assignments, multiple-choice quizzes, videos, and tutorials to help them understand the course material.
Other Subjects, First Foreign Language, Communication, Citizenship:
Course materials and announcements are primarily posted on the ATOLIA platform.
The process is simple: our instructors upload their lessons and assignments as files (documents, PDFs, videos, etc.), which our students then download.
Citizenship classes are held via Zoom. Virtual tours of locations that students were originally scheduled to visit (a wastewater treatment plant and a historic site in the city of Grasse) were organized.
Classes are conducted via "synchronous" video conferencing, allowing students to receive explanations or have their work corrected in real time by the instructors.
They take place according to the weekly schedule that was in effect before the lockdown, namely:
Monday morning: Math
Monday afternoon: Civics
Tuesday morning: English
Tuesday afternoon: Computer Science
Wednesday: Communication
Thursday and Friday: Physics and Electronics
Sandrine Barrier, who is in charge of administration at the Grasse site, adds: “Everything is going as well as possible in this unprecedented situation, and classes are continuing as smoothly as possible!”
