DiscoverEU: Europe Within Reach by Train for 18-Year-Olds
Do you dream of exploring Europe, meeting other young people, and embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure? DiscoverEU is for you!
This Erasmus+ program initiative allows you to travel across the continent—primarily by train—to immerse yourself in Europe’s rich culture and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
When should I apply?
Registration is not open year-round. Two registration periods are held each year, in the spring and fall. Stay tuned for upcoming dates by visiting our website regularly!
Who can participate?
This applies to you if:
- You'll be 18 years old at the time of the trip,
- You live in a European Union member country or an Erasmus+ partner country (such as Norway, Turkey, or Iceland),
- You have a valid ID card, passport, or residence permit.
All you have to do next is fill out an online form, which includes a short quiz to test your knowledge (unless you're applying as a group).
Any questions?
If you are selected, you will receive a travel pass that allows you to visit several European countries. You will also receive a DiscoverEU Youth Card, which offers discounts on museums, activities, lodging, local transportation, and much more.
Do you live in a remote area or on an island? There are specific provisions in place for you.
You can go on your own or with a group of up to 4 friends, as long as everyone meets the eligibility requirements. Just share your application code so your friends can sign up too.
