Learn about the government assistance programs available to help you get your driver's license

The €1-a-day permit

The “Driver’s License for One Euro a Day” loan is a government-funded program that allows young people to pay for their driver’s license without incurring interest charges.

Who is eligible?

This loan is available to all young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who have signed a training contract with a partner driving school, subject to approval of their application by the financial institution.

Enrollment in a Partner Driving School

To qualify for this loan, you must enroll in a driving school or an organization recognized by the government for the quality of its training programs. These schools, which have been awarded the “Quality of Training in Driving Schools” certification, are committed to meeting rigorous standards and providing a mandatory financial guarantee. This guarantee ensures the reimbursement of amounts paid by applicants in the event of financial failure on the part of the school.

Loan Repayment

Repayments are made at a rate of 30 € per month—the equivalent of one euro per day—with the government covering the interest. Repayment begins the month after the funds are released. It is important to note that the repayment period is not tied to the date the license was obtained. For example, a training program may last six months, while repayment is spread over a period of 20 to 40 months, depending on the amount borrowed.
